Russian Blue cats are wonderful companions; elegant and sage kitties but affectionate and loyal with their people like pups. They are quick and agile, playful cats who love to be near the members of their family. They will shadow their chosen person everywhere they can, from kitchen to living room to laundry (even to work if you would let them). They are inquisitive and want to check out everything you are doing - investigating the laundry you are folding, watching you cook and checking that you are okay in your bath .... whatever it is they will be curious.

Russian Blues love familiar company and once they are acquainted with a new face, they will show themselves, hang out and maybe play. These wonderful buddies are not typically clingy and are very unlikely to be a lap lounger. Rather they will hang out nearby on a favourite vantage point. They often greet their people or get attention with a few little meows or trills.

Russian Blues are a medium energy level breed but playtime is still important - both for exercise and for bonding. These highly intelligent and curious felines will often learn tricks like playing fetch, sit, shake a paw, high five and more. And a tall scratching post is a good investment with these statuesque beauties.

These gorgeous felines are amazingly LOW SHEDDING! and HYPO-ALLERGENIC! Many people who have cat allergies have no reaction and are able to live with Russian Blues. Their coats are typically blue-grey with a silky thick plush texture. Their low-maintenance grooming requirements are typically a weekly brushing to keep their fur feeling silky smooth. Normally these beauties have 2 seasonal sheds in a year, the rest of the year we are able to pet & snuggle these cats without getting coated in cat hairs.

As these kittens grow their eye colour changes from baby eyes of a deep blue to a bright yellow, and about four months on the yellow will develop a green ring and their eyes will continue to a full striking green in adulthood.
